All Student Visa holders must have Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for the duration of their Visa. This Health Cover provides medical and hospital insurance while living in Australia.

Students must not arrive in Australia before the date of commencement of Health Cover. If you are in Australia and do not have adequate health insurance, you are in breach of visa condition 8501.

Canterbury College can organise OSHC coverage for students through BUPA, or students can select an approved OSHC provider and organise their own cover.  Please consider BUPA’s Price List for OSHC.

Students can find out the length of Health Cover required at student visa grant periods.

Students must include the Policy Number of the OSHC in their Student Visa 500 application to the Australian Visa Office.
