The College offers a High School Preparation Program of Intensive English.

Entry Criteria and Academic Requirements

Please complete the Application Form linked here and return it with the following supporting documentation:

  • Copy of Passport
  • Previous 2 years of academic transcripts
  • Academic Entry Test is not required
  • AEAS, TOEFL and IELTS is not required for entry into HSP
  • Evidence of English language ability is required for direct entry to mainstream academic courses.

Overseas Student Health Cover

As an international student in Australia, you are required to have Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for the entire duration of your study in Australia. This insurance covers visits to the doctor, some hospital treatment, ambulance cover and limited pharmaceuticals (medicines). For further information on insurances please visit Australian Government’s Futures Unlimited.

You are able to purchase your own OSHC through your preferred insurance provider, or Canterbury College can purchase this on your behalf through our OSHC provider BUPA.

Please visit the Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) website for information about Student Visa applications and requirements. Students must comply with the requirements of the Department of Immigration and Citizenship in regard to regulations governing international student entry to Australia.

ESOS Framework

The Australian Government wants International students in Australia to have a safe, enjoyable and rewarding place to study. Australia’s laws promote quality education and consumer protection for international students. These laws are known as the ESOS framework (www.aei.gov.au) and they include the Education Services for Overseas (ESOS) Act 2000 and the National Code 2007. Families and Students should make themselves familiar with this framework.
