Scholarships

At Canterbury College we recognise and reward achievement and celebrate success.

Every year we accept applications for scholarships from exceptional students.

2020 Scholarship Applications have now closed.

Academic Scholarships for 2021
Canterbury is offering a second round of Academic Scholarships for new enrolments entering Year 5 – 10 in 2021.
Scholarships are offered on the basis of performance on the scholarship test and previous academic performance.
Online applications can be submitted here.
Applications close on Friday 11 July 2020 at 3:00pm.
The Academic Exam will be held at Canterbury on Saturday 18 July 2020 at 8:30am.  Parents will be notified if the exam date needs to be rescheduled due to COVID-19. 

Mathematics Scholarships for 2021
Canterbury is offering a second round of Mathematics Scholarships for new enrolments entering Years 5 – 10 in 2021.
Scholarships are offered on the basis of performance on the scholarship test and previous academic performance.
The Mathematics exam is a component of the Academic exam.  All students applying for the Mathematics Scholarship will sit the Academic examination. 
If you are applying for a Mathematics Scholarship, you do not need to pay a second application fee, simply indicate that your child is applying for the Mathematics Scholarship in the online application.

Leadership and Community Scholarships for 2021
Canterbury is offering Leadership and Community Scholarships for new enrolments entering Year 7 in 2021.
The criteria that the College will consider in offering these scholarships are as follows:
1. The holding of a senior leadership position in primary school (eg School Captain, Vice-Captain, Sports Captain, Arts Captain, SRC President etc);
2. An ongoing contribution to community service, volunteering or participation in public awareness campaigns;
3. The recognition of servant leadership qualities by teachers and school leaders (as cited in letters of recommendation or similar).
Evidence required to support scholarship applications in this category may include letters of appointment, certificates of achievement or recognition and letters of recommendation by school leaders or teachers.  An application under this category does not preclude a student from also applying under other scholarship categories.

Netball Scholarships for 2021 
Canterbury Netball Academy is offering scholarships to new students entering Years 7 – 11 in 2021.
Applications can be viewed or downloaded here.  
Applications close Friday 5 June 2020.
Interviews will take place in the week commencing 20 July 2020.

Sport Scholarships for 2021
Canterbury students have the opportunity to compete locally in The Associated Schools (TAS) sporting competition as well as other competitions and at a representative level. 
Scholarships are available for students entering Years   7 – 11 in 2021.
Applications can be viewed or downloaded here.  
Applications close Friday 5 June 2020.
Interviews will take place in the week commencing 20 July 2020.

Performing Arts Scholarship for 2021
Instrumental Music, Choral and Dance Scholarships are available to students entering Years 7 – 11 in 2021.
Scholarships are available for all instruments.  Applicants playing double reed, French horn, double bass or those with high level choral experience are encouraged to apply.
Younger students are also invited to apply for Instrumental Music Scholarships if they have successfully attained an AMEB Level 4.
