Ovals and Fields
The Canterbury campus includes three large ovals, incorporating six fields. They house various athletics facilities, including an impressive 400m international standard athletics track that came to us as a Legacy Asset from the GC2018 Commonwealth Games.
The athletics track incorporates 6 running lanes and spaces for long jump, triple jump, pole vaulting and shot put.
There are three multi-purpose courts inside the Canterbury Events Centre (CEC) that accommodate netball, basketball and volleyball. Each court comes with electronic scoreboards as well as floodlighting for evening matches.
A professional-standard, fully equipped gym as well as an outdoor gym are located next to the Sports Hall and are used by staff and students.
The Sports Hall is used for TAS sporting fixtures, HPE classes and as a multi-purpose hall. It has two indoor courts, electronic scoreboards and can seat 1500 people.
Located as an annexe to the Sports Hall, our brand new wood sprung floor squash courts came to us as a Legacy Asset from the GC2018 Commonwealth Games. The courts feature movable walls to create either single or double courts, or one big open space.
The two turf pitch cricket wickets are used regularly for training and game play.
There are two full-sized outdoor tennis courts located beside the Sports Hall as well as a beach volleyball court.
Coming Soon: Aquatic and Tennis Centre
Construction is underway on our new Aquatic and Tennis Centre. The exciting facility will feature a 50m pool, a learn-to-swim pool and 8 tennis courts.
